Strawberry Cream Rolls – 5-Minute Breakfast That Beats Buns!

In a saucepan, whisk together the sugar, vanilla sugar, cornstarch, and milk.

Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring continuously until it thickens and starts to bubble.

Once thickened, remove from heat and whisk in the egg and butter until smooth and creamy.

Let the filling cool to room temperature.

Prepare the Puff Pastry:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into strips or rectangles (about 2 inches wide).

Brush the pastry with a little bit of egg wash (beat 1 egg and use it to brush the surface of the pastry for a golden finish).

Assemble the Rolls:

Spoon a small amount of the cream filling onto each strip of puff pastry.

Roll the pastry tightly into small scrolls or rolls.

Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and puffed up.

Serve:

Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate for an extra touch.
