An old orchid stem (withered or spent flower stalk)

A healthy orchid parent plant

Sharp sterilized scissors or pruning shears

A pot with drainage holes

Orchid growing medium (like bark or sphagnum moss)

A humidity dome or clear plastic bag (optional, for humidity)

Method:
Inspect the Old Branch:

Ensure the old branch is not rotting and has a viable portion of the stem, ideally one that is still greenish and firm.

If the branch is completely dry, it may not be viable for propagation. Look for healthy areas, sometimes even nodes, from which new growth may sprout.
