Soft Mayonnaise Butter Cookies

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and powdered sugar until well combined. Add in the mayonnaise and continue to whisk until smooth.

Form the Dough: Gradually sift in the flour (if using) and stir until everything is combined into a thick dough. If the dough feels too sticky, you can add a little extra flour until it reaches the desired consistency.

Shape the Cookies: Using a spoon or cookie scoop, form small balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Flatten each ball slightly with the back of a spoon.

Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may still appear soft, but they will firm up as they cool.

Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
