Skillet Bourbon Steak – A Rich and Flavorful Date Night Delight!

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

Sear the Steak:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear for 3–4 minutes per side, or until a golden-brown crust forms. Adjust the cooking time depending on your desired doneness. Once done, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a plate.

Make the Bourbon Sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic, sautéing for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Carefully pour in the bourbon (it may flame up briefly) and let it simmer for 1–2 minutes to cook off the alcohol.
Add the beef broth, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), brown sugar (or sweetener), Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well and let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Finish and Serve:
Slice the steak against the grain and return it to the skillet. Spoon the bourbon sauce over the top, allowing the steak to soak in all the delicious flavors.
Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
