Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions

In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, cornstarch, and vegetable oil.

Add the thinly sliced flank steak and toss to coat evenly.

Let the steak marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Step 2: Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and black pepper.

Set aside for later use.

Step 3: Stir-Fry the Vegetables
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the sliced onion and bell peppers, stir-frying for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened.

Add the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Remove the vegetables from the pan and set them aside.

Step 4: Cook the Steak
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the pan.

Add the marinated steak in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned.

Step 5: Combine and Finish the Dish
Flip the cooked vegetables over the steak.

Pour the prepared stir-fry sauce over the mixture.

Bring to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce.

Add red pepper flakes for more heat, if desired. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.

Step 6: Serve
Serve the Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions hot over a bed of cooked white rice or steamed rice.
