Savory Puff Pastry with Minced Meat and Cheese

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Grease a baking sheet with a little butter and place the puff pastry sheet on it. If you’re using more than one sheet, overlap them to form a larger rectangle or square, depending on your preference.

Cook the Filling:

In a pan, melt a small amount of butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced meat to the pan, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with salt, black pepper, and dried basil. Cook until the meat is browned and fully cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.

Stir in the chopped boiled eggs, grated cheese, and chopped parsley. Mix everything until the cheese begins to melt and everything is well combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Assemble the Pastry:

Once the filling has cooled enough to handle, spoon it evenly down the center of the puff pastry sheet.

Carefully fold the sides of the puff pastry over the filling to enclose it. You can fold the pastry into a rectangular or square shape, or roll it into a log, depending on your preference.

Press the edges together to seal the pastry.

Bake:

Bake the pastry in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Check halfway through, and if necessary, brush the pastry with a little more butter for an extra golden shine.

Serve:

Once baked, allow the savory puff pastry to cool slightly before slicing it into portions. Serve warm as an appetizer, snack, or main dish.
