Roasted Parmesan Creamed Onions: A Savory Side Dish to Impress

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil.

Prepare the Onions for Roasting:
In a bowl, toss the peeled pearl onions with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread the onions in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and tender, stirring halfway through for even roasting.

Make the Creamed Sauce:
While the onions are roasting, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
Stir in the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the cream to thicken slightly.
Lower the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese has melted and the sauce becomes smooth. Season with thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper to taste.

Combine and Serve:
Once the onions are roasted, transfer them to a serving dish. Pour the Parmesan cream sauce over the onions, tossing to coat them evenly.
Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve warm.
