Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf

Sauté Vegetables: Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, mushrooms, and chopped garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let them cool slightly.
Step 2: Make the Meatloaf Mixture
Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, cheese whiz (if using), Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, eggs, and panko breadcrumbs. Add the sautéed vegetable mixture to the bowl and mix until well combined.
Step 3: Form the Meatloaf
Shape the Meatloaf: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet or pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on the prepared pan.
Step 4: Add Provolone
Cheese Layer: If you’re using 4 ounces of provolone, lay the slices in the center of the meatloaf, folding them to fit. Then, top the loaf with the 8 slices of provolone, covering it evenly.
Step 5: Bake the Meatloaf
Bake: Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). If desired, you can broil the top for the last few minutes to get the cheese extra bubbly and golden.
Step 6: Serve
Let It Rest: Allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to make it easier to serve. Enjoy your cheesy, savory Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf!
