Perfectly Mini Doughnuts

In a medium bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground nutmeg. Stir until the dry ingredients are evenly mixed.
In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Step 2: Heat the Oil
Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large, heavy pot to 375°F (190°C).
While the oil is heating, prepare a tray lined with paper towels to drain the excess oil from the doughnuts.
Step 3: Fry the Doughnuts
If you have a mini doughnut pan, preheat it and lightly grease it. If not, you can also use a spoon or small cookie scoop to carefully drop doughnut-sized amounts of batter into the hot oil.
Fry the doughnuts in batches for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and fully cooked. Use a slotted spoon to remove the doughnuts from the oil and place them on the paper towel-lined tray.
Step 4: Prepare the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if necessary. The glaze should be thick but pourable.
Step 5: Glaze the Doughnuts
Once the doughnuts have cooled slightly but are still warm, dip the tops into the glaze, letting any excess drip off.
Place the glazed doughnuts back on the tray and allow the glaze to set for a couple of minutes.
