Pepperoni Pizza Layer Cake with Mozzarella Flavor and Marinara

Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch (23cm) round cake pans.

Prepare the Cake Batter: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and whole milk. Mix until smooth and well combined. Stir in the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Bake the Cakes: Divide the batter evenly among the three prepared cake pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool completely.

Make the Marinara Frosting: In a mixing bowl, beat together the marinara sauce, softened butter, powdered sugar, and salt until smooth and well combined.

Assemble the Cake: Once the cakes have cooled, place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of marinara frosting on top, followed by a sprinkle of shredded mozzarella cheese. Add another cake layer and repeat the process. For the top layer, cover the cake with more marinara frosting, mozzarella cheese, and top with the pepperoni slices.
