Pecan Pie Brownies

Preheat the oven to the temperature specified on the brownie mix box.
Prepare the brownie batter according to the instructions on the package. Typically, you will mix the brownie mix with water, oil, and eggs.
Pour the brownie batter into a greased 13×9-inch pan, spreading it evenly.
2. Bake the Brownie Base:

Bake the brownie layer in the preheated oven for the time recommended on the box (usually 25-30 minutes), or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs.
Let the brownies cool slightly while you prepare the pecan pie filling.
3. Make the Pecan Pie Filling:

In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and well combined.
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly for about 3-4 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
Remove from heat and fold in the chopped pecans.
4. Assemble the Pecan Pie Brownies:

Once the brownies have slightly cooled, pour the pecan pie filling evenly over the top of the brownies.
Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and golden brown. You should see the filling bubble slightly.
5. Cool and Slice:

Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. The filling will continue to set as it cools.
