Introduction:
Lasagna is a classic Italian dish loved by many, but there’s something magical about an authentic recipe passed down from a grandma. This lasagna is the perfect blend of savory, creamy, and cheesy goodness. The layers of rich meat sauce, smooth béchamel, and melted mozzarella make it the ultimate comfort food. Ingredients:
For the Meat Sauce:

1 purple onion, finely chopped

3 cloves of garlic, minced

900 g (1 lb 16 oz) ground beef

Salt, to taste

1/3 tsp chili pepper

1 tsp basil

1 tsp oregano

Black pepper, to taste

3 cans of diced tomatoes (1200 g / 3 lb)

1 cup of water

For the Béchamel Sauce:

50 g (1.8 oz) butter

2 tbsp flour

700 ml (1.5 pint) warm milk

A pinch of nutmeg

For Assembling:

500 g (1 lb 2 oz) fresh mozzarella, sliced

A bunch of parsley, chopped

Lasagna sheets (enough for layering)

30 g (1 oz) Parmesan, grated

125 g (4.4 oz) Edam cheese, grated
