Add chicken pieces and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and fully cooked through.
Step 2: Add Garlic
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 3: Add the Pasta and Liquids
Add the uncooked penne pasta, chicken broth, and marinara sauce to the pot.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
Step 4: Stir in the Cheese
Stir in mozzarella cheese and half of the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
Step 5: Serve
Serve the pasta hot, garnished with the remaining Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, if desired.
