Nestlé’s Toll House Chocolate Cake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.

In a medium bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Alternately add the dry flour mixture and milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just incorporated.

Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans and smooth the tops.

Bake the cake:

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before turning them out onto wire racks to cool completely.

Prepare the frosting:
