Moist and Zesty Orange Cake: A Refreshing Citrus Delight

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan, or line it with parchment paper.
Make the Cake Batter

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix to keep the cake light and fluffy.
Bake the Cake

Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Make the Orange Glaze

While the cake is cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest in a small bowl until smooth.
If the glaze is too thick, add a little more orange juice to achieve your desired consistency.
Glaze the Cake

Once the cake has cooled completely, drizzle the orange glaze over the top, letting it drip down the sides for a beautiful presentation.
Serve

Slice the cake and serve. It pairs wonderfully with a cup of tea or coffee, and it’s perfect for any occasion!
