Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a small cake pan (about 8 inches/20 cm).
Whip the Eggs:
In a large bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt until slightly foamy. Add the sugar and vanilla sugar (or orange zest), and continue beating until the mixture is thick and pale.
Add Wet Ingredients:
Gradually add in the oil while beating, then slowly pour in the orange juice. Mix until well incorporated.
Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for about 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
Let the cake cool completely in the pan before transferring it to a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
