In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and 50 g of sugar until light and fluffy. You can use an electric mixer or do it by hand with a whisk.
Add the Flour:
Gradually sift in the flour and mix until the dough comes together. The dough should be soft and slightly crumbly, but it should hold together when pressed.
Shape the Cookies:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Gently flatten each ball with your fingers or the back of a fork.
Add the Sugar:
Sprinkle the remaining 50 g of sugar on top of the cookies for a little extra sweetness and texture.
Bake:
Bake the cookies for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. They should still be soft when you remove them from the oven but will firm up as they cool.
Cool and Serve:
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee!
