Mac and Cheese Meatloaf Casserole: A Comfort Food Dream!

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Press the meatloaf mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Bake the meatloaf layer for 20-25 minutes, until it is partially cooked.
Step 2: Make the Mac and Cheese
While the meatloaf is baking, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
Gradually whisk in the milk, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until it thickens.
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, mustard powder (if using), salt, and pepper. Continue stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix until well coated.
Step 3: Assemble the Casserole
Remove the meatloaf layer from the oven.
Spread the mac and cheese mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Sprinkle extra shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs over the mac and cheese for a crispy topping.
Step 4: Bake
Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the meatloaf is fully cooked.
Step 5: Serve
Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy this comforting, cheesy masterpiece!
