Kentucky Butter Cake Cookies

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, until the dough comes together.
Step 2: Shape the Cookies
Drop rounded tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges and set in the center.
Step 3: Make the Glaze
While the cookies bake, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in the sugar, vanilla, and milk. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until the glaze has thickened slightly.
Step 4: Glaze the Cookies
Once the cookies are out of the oven, allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
Using a spoon or brush, drizzle the glaze over the warm cookies, ensuring they are well-coated.
