Just Add Quinoa to Water! Easy High-Protein Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner

Place the quinoa in a fine mesh strainer and rinse it thoroughly under cold water. This helps remove the natural saponins (a bitter coating) that can affect the taste.

Cook the quinoa:
In a medium saucepan, add the rinsed quinoa and the dairy-free milk or water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Simmer:
Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until all the liquid is absorbed and the quinoa is tender.

Fluff the quinoa:
Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Then, fluff the quinoa with a fork to separate the grains.

Serve:
Your quinoa is ready to enjoy! Serve it warm as a simple meal, or use it as a base for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
