Italian-Style Croque Monsieur with Pesto and Mozzarella

Preheat the Oven:
Set your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Assemble the Sandwiches:
Spread pesto on one slice of cornbread. Add a slice of baked ham, a few tomato slices, and a generous handful of grated mozzarella. Season with salt and pepper, then top with another slice of cornbread to close the sandwich.

Add the Butter:
Lightly spread butter on the outer top of each sandwich.

Bake to Perfection:
Arrange the sandwiches on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serve and Enjoy:
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Cut diagonally and serve warm.
