In a medium saucepan, bring the beef broth (or water) to a boil.
Add the rice, butter, and olive oil, and reduce the heat to low.
Cover and cook for 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and set aside.
Prepare the Steak:
While the rice cooks, season the steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the skillet is hot, add the steaks and sear them for 4-5 minutes on each side (for medium-rare to medium).
Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside to rest for a few minutes before slicing them into thin strips.
Make the Honey Garlic Butter Sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter.
Once the butter has melted, stir in the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice).
Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic becomes fragrant and the sauce thickens slightly.
If desired, add the crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
Combine Steak and Rice:
Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the honey garlic butter sauce, stirring to coat the rice evenly with the sauce.
Add the sliced steak on top and toss to combine everything.
Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
Serve:
Serve the Honey Garlic Butter Steak and Rice Skillet hot, garnished with chopped green onions or parsley, if desired.
