Homestyle Cracker Barrel Meatloaf: A Comfort Food Classic

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Meat Mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, thyme, and oregano. Mix until well combined, but be careful not to overwork the meat to avoid a tough loaf.

Form the Meatloaf:
Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, shaping it into a uniform loaf. Press the mixture down gently to eliminate air pockets.

Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar until smooth. Pour the glaze over the top of the meatloaf, spreading it out evenly with a spoon or spatula.

Bake:
Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). If you prefer a more caramelized glaze, you can broil the meatloaf for the last 2-3 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.

Rest and Serve:
Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist and tender meatloaf.

Serve:
Slice the meatloaf and serve with mashed potatoes, green beans, or your favorite comfort food sides.
