Homemade Pancakes: Fluffy, Golden Perfection

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Step 3: Combine the Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir to combine. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps. Overmixing can lead to tough pancakes.
Step 4: Cook the Pancakes
Preheat a griddle or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with a bit of butter or oil.
For each pancake, pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the griddle. Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake and the edges start to look set, about 2-3 minutes.
Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side, until golden brown and cooked through.
Step 5: Serve
Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, fresh berries, or a dollop of whipped cream.
