Homemade Garlic Dinner Rolls: Soft, Fluffy, and Full of Flavor

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. This indicates that the yeast is activated and ready to use.
Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, melted butter, salt, and beaten egg.
Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, stirring until a soft dough forms. You may need to adjust the amount of flour slightly, depending on humidity and the type of flour.
Once the dough starts to come together, transfer it to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Let the Dough Rise:

Grease the bowl lightly with a bit of olive oil or butter, and place the dough back into the bowl. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Shape the Rolls:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Once the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release any air bubbles. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a smooth ball.
Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, ensuring they are close but not touching. Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 20-30 minutes.
Prepare the Garlic Butter Topping:

While the rolls are rising, prepare the garlic butter topping. In a small bowl, melt the softened butter and add the minced garlic. Stir well to combine. You can also add chopped parsley for a burst of color and flavor.
Bake the Rolls:

Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until golden brown on top and cooked through. You can test doneness by tapping the bottom of a roll—if it sounds hollow, they’re ready.
Brush with Garlic Butter:

As soon as the rolls come out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter mixture. This will give them a beautiful, shiny finish and enhance the garlic flavor.
Serve:

Serve the rolls warm as a side to your favorite dishes. These garlic dinner rolls are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven but can be stored for up to 2 days.
