Homemade Crustless Pizza Bake: A Low-Carb, Flavorful Twist on Classic Pizza

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or a similar-sized casserole dish.
Cook the Meat:

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef (or turkey) and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until fully browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat and set the meat aside.
Sauté the Vegetables:

In the same skillet, add the diced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms (if using). Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and fragrant. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Assemble the Pizza Bake:

In the prepared baking dish, layer the cooked ground meat mixture and the sautéed vegetables. Pour the marinara or pizza sauce over the top and spread it evenly.
Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the sauce. Add the dried oregano, basil, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) on top for extra flavor.
Bake:

Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
Serve:

Remove the pizza bake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
