Homemade Chicken Broth


Sauté the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chicken leg and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until browned. This will help create a rich, flavorful base for the broth.

Add Aromatics: Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, diced kohlrabi, carrots, and sliced leek to the pot. Stir to combine, and cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing the vegetables to soften and the flavors to develop.

Add Hot Water: Pour in the hot water and stir to combine everything. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer the Broth: Lower the heat to medium-low and let the broth simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour. During this time, the chicken will become tender, and the vegetables will infuse the broth with their flavors.

Season (Optional): Taste the broth, and add salt and pepper as desired. If you prefer a more intense flavor, you can add a bit more hot water or allow the broth to simmer longer.
