Homemade Bread Recipe – Soft, Fluffy & Delicious

In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy. This ensures your yeast is active.

Step 2: Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil (or melted butter).

Stir with a wooden spoon or mix with a stand mixer until a rough dough forms.

Step 3: Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

If using a stand mixer, knead on medium speed for 5-7 minutes.

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 4: Shape the Dough
Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.

Place it in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan and cover with a towel. Let it rise again for 30-45 minutes.

Step 5: Bake the Bread
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

Remove from the oven and brush the top with melted butter for a soft crust (optional).

Step 6: Cool & Enjoy
Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
