Light: Parsley loves full sun (6–8 hours/day), but it will also grow in partial shade.
Soil: Use well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. A mix with compost or organic matter is ideal.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy. Don’t let it dry out completely.
Container Growing: Use a pot at least 6–8 inches deep. Great for patios or windowsills.
4. Ongoing Care:
Harvest often: Regular harvesting encourages new growth. Snip outer stems at the base, not just leaves from the top.
Remove flower stems: Parsley is a biennial, meaning it flowers in its second year. Once it bolts (flowers), it focuses on seed, not leaves. Snip flower stalks to extend leaf production.
Feed gently: Use an all-purpose liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season.
5. Extend Its Life:
Overwintering Indoors: Before frost hits, pot your parsley and bring it indoors. Place it near a sunny window.
Prune regularly: This keeps it bushy and prevents leggy stems.
Let a few flower (optionally): You can allow one plant to go to seed and self-sow, or collect the seeds for next season.
