Grinch Cookies: A Festive Holiday Treat

Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

Add Wet Ingredients:
Beat in the vanilla extract, almond extract, and egg until combined. Then, add the green food coloring and mix until the dough is evenly tinted.

Combine Dry and Wet Ingredients:
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until fully combined. The dough will be thick and slightly sticky.

Shape the Cookies:
Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Gently press each ball down with your fingers to flatten it slightly.

Add the Red Heart Sprinkles:
Press a red heart sprinkle in the center of each cookie for that Grinch-inspired touch!

Bake the Cookies:
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
