In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, red onion, garlic, parsley, dill, oregano, lemon zest, lemon juice, and egg. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Mix the ingredients together until well combined, but do not overwork the mixture to keep the meatballs tender.
Use your hands to shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
Step 2: Cook the Meatballs
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Once hot, add the meatballs and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
Step 3: Make the Tzatziki Sauce
In a medium bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, dill, and mint (if using).
Stir in the extra virgin olive oil and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
If the Tzatziki seems too thick, you can add a little water to reach your desired consistency.
Step 4: Serve
Serve the Greek chicken meatballs with a generous side of the homemade Tzatziki sauce for dipping. Garnish with extra fresh herbs or a lemon wedge if desired.
