Grandma’s Savory Meat and Potato Casserole – A Family Favorite

1️⃣ Cook the Potatoes:
Heat a little vegetable fat in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced potatoes and cook until golden and crispy, about 10 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

2️⃣ Prepare the Meat Mixture:
In the same skillet, add the minced meat and cook over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and season with salt, paprika, and black pepper. Cook until the meat is browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Set aside.

3️⃣ Prepare the Eggs:
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add 1 tsp of salt. Set aside.

4️⃣ Assemble the Casserole:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, layer the cooked potatoes on the bottom. Then spread the meat mixture over the potatoes. Pour the beaten eggs evenly over the top and sprinkle with grated cheese.

5️⃣ Bake the Casserole:
Bake the casserole in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6️⃣ Serve:
Remove from the oven, slice, and serve warm. This dish is perfect on its own or paired with a fresh salad.
