Girandola Cookies: Beautiful and Delicious!

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

2. Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and beat until smooth. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, until a soft dough forms.

3. Roll Out the Dough:
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it into a rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick.

4. Add the Jam:
Spread the jam evenly over the dough, leaving a small border along the edges. The jam will help create the beautiful swirl in the cookies!

5. Roll and Slice:
Carefully roll the dough up, starting from one edge, to form a log. Slice the log into 1/4-inch rounds and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

6. Bake the Cookies:
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-baking.

7. Cool and Serve:
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar for a beautiful finishing touch.
