Garlic-Infused Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes: A Creamy Comfort Food Classic

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
Prepare the garlic cream sauce:

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Whisk in the flour and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until golden. Gradually add the milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly. Add salt, black pepper, paprika (if using), and 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
Assemble the dish:

Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes, spreading it evenly.
Repeat the process with the remaining potatoes and sauce, ensuring the potatoes are well covered with sauce. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
Bake:

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
Garnish and serve:

Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for an added touch of color and freshness.
