Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through (about 10-12 minutes). Remove the sausages from the pan and set them aside.
Once the sausages are cooked, slice them into bite-sized pieces.
2. Sauté the Garlic and Broccoli:
In the same skillet, add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
Add the broccoli florets to the pan and toss to coat in the garlic butter. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until the broccoli begins to soften. If the broccoli starts to stick to the pan, add a splash of chicken broth or water to deglaze the pan.
3. Combine the Sausages and Broccoli:
Add the cooked sausage pieces back into the skillet with the broccoli. Stir to combine.
Pour the chicken broth (or water) into the pan, stirring to combine. Cover the skillet and let it cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and the sausages are heated through.
4. Season and Serve:
Season the dish with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
If desired, drizzle with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for brightness and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot.
