Garlic Butter Baked Scallops

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or a baking sheet with a little olive oil or non-stick spray.
2. Prepare the Scallops:

If using frozen scallops, make sure they are completely thawed and pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
Arrange the scallops in a single layer in the prepared baking dish, making sure there’s space between each scallop.
3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant, but be careful not to let the garlic burn.
Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest (if using), and red pepper flakes (if desired), then remove from heat.
4. Coat the Scallops:

Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the scallops, making sure they are well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
If you like, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the scallops for added richness and flavor.
5. Bake:

Place the baking dish in the oven and bake the scallops for 12-15 minutes, or until the scallops are opaque and firm to the touch. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become rubbery.
6. Garnish and Serve:

Once done, remove the scallops from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley.
Serve immediately, ideally with a side of steamed vegetables, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious garlic butter sauce.
