In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sesame oil, sugar or honey, and water. Set aside.
Heat the Pan:
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Cook the Garlic:
Add the minced garlic to the pan and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it.
Add the Broccoli:
Toss in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes. The broccoli should start to turn bright green.
Add the Sauce:
Pour the sauce over the broccoli, stirring to coat evenly. Cover the pan and let the broccoli steam for 2-3 minutes, until tender but still crisp.
Finish and Serve:
Remove the lid, stir to combine, and cook for another minute to allow the sauce to thicken slightly. Garnish with sesame seeds, if desired, and serve immediately.
