Fruitcake Delight Cookies: Sweet, Fruity, and Perfectly Spiced

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the Wet Ingredients: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until fully combined.

Add the Mix-ins: Fold in the dried fruits, nuts, crystallized ginger (if using), candied cherries, and white chocolate chips (if using).

Shape the Cookies: Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake: Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.

Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
