Peel and slice the potatoes into even rounds.
Place the sliced potatoes in a large pot with 2 liters of water. Add salt and bring to a boil.
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 10-12 minutes or until the potatoes are just tender but not fully cooked. Drain the potatoes and set aside.
Sauté the Potatoes:
In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the partially cooked potatoes and season with black pepper and dill. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the potatoes are lightly golden on the edges.
Assemble the Casserole:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a greased casserole dish, layer the sautéed potatoes evenly. Top with your choice of cooked ground meat (beef, chicken, or pork) and any additional ingredients (like onions or cheese).
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
