2. Make the Dough:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Once the yeast mixture is ready, add it to the flour mixture along with the melted butter, vanilla extract, and water.
Stir until a dough forms, then knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
3. First Rise:
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
4. Shape the Donuts:
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness.
Use a round cutter or a glass to cut out donut shapes. You can also use a smaller cutter for the center hole.
Place the shaped donuts on a parchment paper-lined tray. Let them rest for 15-20 minutes to rise again.
