Don’t Throw Away the Egg Trays! The Perfect Puff Pastry Dessert

Prepare the Strawberry Filling:

In a saucepan, combine the hulled strawberries, sugar, starch, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and the strawberries soften.

Set the strawberry mixture aside to cool.

Make the Puff Pastry:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into small squares or rectangles, depending on your preference.

Place the puff pastry pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and puffed. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool.

Prepare the Chocolate Syrup:

In a small saucepan, combine the chocolate syrup, coffee, and cocoa powder. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until everything is well combined and smooth. Set aside.

Assemble the Dessert:

Once the puff pastry has cooled, cut them in half horizontally to create two layers. On the bottom layer, spoon a generous amount of the strawberry filling.

Drizzle the chocolate syrup over the strawberry filling.

Place the top layer of puff pastry on top.
