Ingredients:
For the Apple Pie:
4-5 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
2 tbsp flour
1 package (2 sheets) refrigerated pie crusts
For the Vanilla Sauce:
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

For the Apple Pie:
Prepare the Apple Filling:
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour until the apples are well coated.
Assemble the Pie:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Roll out one sheet of pie crust and line a 9-inch pie dish with it.
Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apples. Crimp the edges to seal the pie, then cut a few slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
Bake the Pie:
Bake the pie for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender. You may want to cover the edges with foil if they brown too quickly.
For the Vanilla Sauce:

In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, milk, and sugar over medium heat, stirring occasionally. If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in cornstarch and simmer for 3-5 minutes until it thickens.
