Decadent Butterscotch Bliss Bars: A Sweet and Irresistible Treat

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the sugar is well dissolved.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Mix the Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.

Add the Butterscotch Chips and Nuts:
Fold in the butterscotch chips and, if using, the chopped walnuts or pecans. For a little extra decadence, you can also stir in some white chocolate chips.

Bake the Bars:
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. The bars should be soft but set.

Cool and Slice:
Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares or rectangles. Enjoy the chewy, gooey butterscotch bliss in every bite!
