Crispy Honey Chicken (Better Than Take Out Every Time)

In a bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and flour. In a separate bowl, beat the egg. Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with the flour-cornstarch mixture. Shake off any excess flour and set aside.

Step 2: Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken pieces in batches, frying for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 3: Prepare the Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, Dijon mustard, and garlic powder. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce comes to a simmer and thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4: Toss the Chicken in the Sauce
Once the chicken is fried, return it to the skillet over low heat. Pour the prepared honey sauce over the crispy chicken and toss to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the chicken is fully coated in the sauce.

Step 5: Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the chicken for a final touch of crunch. Serve the Crispy Honey Chicken over steamed rice or alongside your favorite veggies.
