Crispy Chili Honey Halloumi Bites

A crispy and delicious snack with a sweet and spicy kick—these crispy chili honey halloumi bites are sure to be a crowd-pleaser! Perfect as an appetizer or a savory treat, the combination of crispy halloumi with a drizzle of chili honey creates a mouthwatering flavor explosion.

Ingredients:
1 block halloumi cheese (about 8 oz), cut into bite-sized cubes

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Chili Honey Sauce:

2 tbsp honey

1 tbsp chili flakes (adjust to your heat preference)

1 tsp olive oil

1/2 tsp soy sauce (optional, for extra umami)

Prepare the Halloumi: Cut the halloumi cheese into bite-sized cubes and set aside.

Make the Coating: In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Coat the halloumi cubes evenly with this flour mixture.

Fry the Halloumi: Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the halloumi cubes to the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Remove from the pan and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

Prepare the Chili Honey Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the honey, chili flakes, olive oil, and soy sauce (if using). Warm over low heat for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is smooth and slightly runny. Stir to combine.

Assemble the Dish: Drizzle the warm chili honey sauce over the crispy halloumi bites. Toss gently to coat the halloumi with the sweet and spicy sauce.
