Crispy and Delicious Indian Fry Bread

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir to ensure they’re evenly distributed.

Add Milk:

Pour the milk into the dry mixture and stir until it’s fully combined. The dough should come together nicely.

Knead the Dough:

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it until it becomes smooth and soft. This should take about 3-5 minutes.

Let the Dough Rest:

Cover the dough with a clean cloth or plastic wrap and let it rest for about two hours. This allows the dough to relax and become easier to roll out.

Roll Out the Dough:

After resting, divide the dough into two portions. Use a rolling pin to roll each portion into a thin circle, about 1/4 inch thick.

Fry the Bread:

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Carefully place the dough circles into the hot oil and fry them until they are golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Drain Excess Oil:

Once fried, remove the bread from the oil and place it on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.

Serve and Enjoy:

Serve the fry bread warm and enjoy it as is, or top it with your favorite ingredients like honey, powdered sugar, or savory toppings like chili or cheese.
