If using canned chickpeas, rinse and drain them well. If using cooked chickpeas, ensure they’re soft and tender.
2. Blend the Hummus:
In a food processor or blender, combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and ground cumin.
Process until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure everything is well mixed. If the hummus is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of water to reach your desired consistency.
3. Season:
Taste the hummus and add salt as needed. For an extra creamy texture, you can also add a little more olive oil at this stage.
4. Serve:
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle a little extra cumin or paprika on top for garnish. Serve with pita bread, fresh veggies, or crackers.
