Creamed Spinach Chicken, Cheese & Bacon

Season the chicken fillets with salt, pepper, and paprika.

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add the seasoned chicken fillets and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side, until golden brown on the outside and fully cooked on the inside.

Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside to rest.

Step 2: Prepare the Creamy Spinach
In the same skillet, add a little more butter if needed and sauté the chopped garlic until fragrant.

Add the fresh spinach (or well-drained frozen spinach) to the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts down.

Stir in the 100 ml of cream and a handful of grated cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika.

Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until it thickens and becomes creamy. Stir occasionally.

Step 3: Cook the Bacon
In a separate pan, fry the diced lardons or bacon over medium heat until they become crispy. This should take about 4-5 minutes.

Once crispy, remove from the pan and set aside to drain on paper towels.

Step 4: Assemble and Bake (Optional)
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

In a baking dish, layer the creamed spinach at the bottom.

Place the cooked chicken fillets on top of the spinach.

Drizzle the remaining cheese over the chicken, then sprinkle the crispy bacon on top.

Place the dish in the oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese and lightly brown it.
