Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
Rub the turkey breast with olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme (or your preferred herbs).
Place the seasoned turkey breast on a rack in a roasting pan, skin-side up.
Roast the Turkey:
Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with its own juices every 30 minutes to keep it moist and flavorful.
Once the turkey is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest while you prepare the glaze.
Make the Cranberry Orange Glaze:
In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, orange juice, sugar, and orange zest. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally.
Once the cranberries begin to pop, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the cranberries break down.
Stir in the balsamic vinegar (if using) and cinnamon (if desired) for added depth of flavor. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more sugar.
Remove the glaze from the heat and let it cool slightly.
Glaze the Turkey:
Once the turkey breast has rested, slice it into thick pieces. Spoon the cranberry orange glaze generously over the slices of turkey, or drizzle the glaze over the whole turkey breast if serving whole.
Serve:
Transfer the glazed turkey to a serving platter. Garnish with extra orange zest or fresh herbs, if desired. Serve with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
