Classic Mini Custard Tarts

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the egg yolk, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth.

Gradually add the milk, continuing to whisk to prevent lumps.

Heat the mixture over medium heat, whisking constantly, until it thickens into a custard (about 5-7 minutes). Once thickened, remove from heat.

Add Flavor:

Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.

Fill the Tarts:

Preheat the oven and bake your tart shells according to package instructions or your homemade recipe.

Once baked, fill the tart shells with the warm custard mixture.

Chill and Serve:

Allow the mini custard tarts to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least an hour before serving to set the custard.
